Driven to New York

Got a snap commission from the Sunday Times to write up an interview with Danica Patrick. No, I didn’t know who she was either – but apparently not only is she the fastest woman in the world (in car racing) but she cut her teeth on Formula Ford in the UK.

Anyway, enough about her, this trip was all about me catching up with some NY cousins and checking out a few museums. Ken delves into my new iPad.

Here’s Ken, Maryann, AnnMarie, Jordan, Melissa and Melanie in a fun mid-town bar. We got kicked out, sadly not for misbehaving but because we simply weren’t famous enough. Can you believe it?P1020674

This was my first time to the Whitney, for the Biennial. Hmm, some good stuff but an awful lot of nonsense. Great space though, and the permanent collection seems first class.

I also visited the Henri Cartier-Bresson show at MOMA and two great shows at the Museum of Arts and Design – Bespoke, about custom bike design, and Dead or Alive, featuring art made from feathers, bone, skeletons, insects and plants. Fabulous!
