Sometimes being a journalist is great. And sometimes it’s bloody great. This was one of those days – test driving a $120,000 Tesla Roadster Sports 2.5 – the fastest electrics sports car in the world.
I was required to drive it before interviewing CEO Elon Musk. With the help of car blogger Alex Kierstein, we zoomed out to Snowqualmie for a bit of old-meets-new photo action.
The car is simply incredible – like a spaceship with a steering wheel. Unbelievable acceleration and just a joy to drive: one gear, regenerative brakes and a kick-ass sound system.
Karen seems to have liked it, too! I picked her up and we headed out to Alki for a fancy Mexican lunch. Carbon footprint? Zero. Well, nearly, as I did have a Dos Equis beer.
