At the start of the month, I jumped on a plane for a whistlestop trip to SF for the launch of some Apple products. This is quite a big deal in the world of geeks, and it was the first time I was asked. I arrived on the Sunday and spent the day walking.
My big discovery was Buena Vista Park, which I had never visited before – what a lovely woody oasis in the middle of the city – and beautiful views indeed!
More great views from the observation tower at the De Jong museum in Golden Gate Park.
And the outside ain’t too shabby either.
In the evening, I met up with the British PR group, including some old friends – David Phelan, Mark Prigg, Luke Peters and more. Delicious food then back to the hotel bar for a few grappas and a surprise performance by London band The Vaccines.
In the morning, straight off to the Apple launch, with thousands of others. Not much to report here – although here’s a picture of Steve Jobs explaining something deep about the Cloud.
Lots of work, then just time to pop into the SF MOMA for a pot of art tea before my flight home. Phew!
